Well, better late than never... I guess. Google joined Twitter yesterday, a full two years after the instant messaging-meets-microblogging channel was born.

Google joins a growing number of companies on Twitter now - a recent move that doesn't impress all of the early adopters of Twitter, those who may prefer to keep the real-time messaging channel for personal mini-blog posts such as "I'm waiting for a bus" and "I just drank lots of water before going to bed." (I am NOT making those up!!)

You shouldn't be ignoring Twitter as a silly-sounding fad, really. Twitter was one of the top 3 fastest-growing social media channel in 2008; soaring in number of users by more than 300%!
