Social Media Training & Education

Blogging and Twitter and Facebook... Oh My!

We know it can be an overwhelming online world – especially now that business (and the rest of the world) is in the grip of a ‘social media epidemic.”

Social Networking… Blogging.. Microblogging… Video Sharing… Photo Sharing… Social Bookmarking… Voting… Reviews…

What’s a small to midsize company to do with all these options? And just how many of them will ever land you any new business, really?

(The answers: Lots! Yes!)

Fortunately, you’re at the right place! We’ll show you exactly how to:

• Get started in social media channels (after our research has helped you learn which social media you should be using)

• Use social media tools properly and effectively

• Build appropriate profiles in the various social media channels

• Optimize your digital assets for increased search results by Google

Teaching you How to Blog or Vlog Effectively

When it comes to blogging, we offer the most comprehensive suite of training and education services out there.

For the complete beginner, our Blogging 101 package of training will give you everything you need to start, and for those who have started blogging but are not seeing the results they wish (traffic, comments), we offer Blogging 2.0: Advanced Techniques.

Blogging Training:

Online/phone instruction that includes:
• How to start a post
• How to upload, and/or embed video into posts
• How to add, size and place photos in the posts
• How to create active links, both internal and external links
• How to publish, or save as draft
• How to create individual or group access in the back-end
• Writing with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind
• Writing for the target market (demographic, cultural differences; emotional impact)
• Writing in a blog-appropriate voice/tone; frequency and length of blogs
• Linking strategies
• Building an editorial calendar for your blog
• How to source blog content ideas within your organization
•  Group blogging vs. solo blogging
• Ethics and etiquette of the blogosphere
• How to conduct appropriate outreach to key web-influencers to drive traffic to your blog

Blog Optimization

  • Introduction to the what/why of optimizing your blog for Google and the other major search engines, including dozens of niche (blogs-only) search engines.
  • We provide actual blog optimization services as well if you wish us to do the work.

Coaching

PROsocialmedia also offers on-going personal coaching - no matter where you're at in your learning curve and adoption use - for blogging as well as other types of social media. We charge for coaching on an hourly basis, as we know your need for coaching will vary, and coaching comes in various forms: face-to-face, online or phone, or a combination.

Vlogging Training

Everything we offer for blogging, we also provide for those interested in starting to v-log.

V-logging is basically blogging, but primarily using video messages in place of written content. The principles are largely the same, although there is clearly more in-depth material around how to make videos, edit them, post them, promote them via video-sharing site like YouTube and many others.

The additional training you receive with vlogging includes:

• Appropriate length, styles of video for circulation on the Internet

• Ideas for creating “viral”-friendly video content

• The basics of Video Optimization: the practice of uploading your videos to various video-sharing sites, YouTube being only one of many dozens, for the purpose of getting found online and generating interest in your product/service.

Beyond Blogging/Vlogging: Other Social Media Training

Once you’re up and running with your blog (and yes, we think that is a de rigeur starting point for ALL companies!) we are standing by with more effective, affordable training options for social media. They include, but are not limited to, the why/when/where and HOW of using:

Twitter (microblogging meets instant-messaging)

Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and other popular social-networking (which one will largely depend on which countries you do business in)

Delicious, Digg, ReddIt, NewsVine and other social-bookmarking sites

Flickr, Fotolog, Kodak Gallery, and other photo-sharing sites

YouTube, Blinkx, Metacafe and other video-sharing sites

• Ning and other self-build community sites

• Many, many other platforms, tools, and channels of social media

You name it, we teach it! All our training includes:

• Hands-on demonstration – either F2F or online/phone combo – of the technical aspects of using that specific social medium.
• Take-away materials for your employees to refer to once the training portion is completed.

Buy it A la Carte or Bundled

All our training services are provided either straight-up as a la carte items - on an hourly fee basis - or as part of our year-long, inclusive SMO Packages - where the training costs are greatly reduced.
